Teaching direction
“Architecture is a profession that creates favorable environments for people and combines the disciplines of art, technology, sociology, and culture. Architectural education is the training of people-oriented knowledge and wisdom.”[JB1]
The teaching objective of the department is to design and create human environments through training the students to think logically about human life, behavioral patterns, and spatial organization and to integrate humanities, technology, and aesthetics. Teaching objectives also include fostering in students the professional literacy and skills to provide architectural professional services after graduating from a 5-year training program, and to have the ability to engage in academic research.
The graduate program aims to train advanced planning and design professionals. This objective guides our perspectives and directs us to real-world problems, practicing environments, and the professional competence of professionals in metropolitan areas in Taipei or Taiwan with an international perspective. Our purpose is to train leaders who have the ability to reflect on different cultures and who have a forward-looking vision and real-world operational capabilities.
