DESIGN CONCEPT|

My DIXON double pedals were always the first thing I would take with me to go on a travel since I   found myself such a passionate drummer at high school. So I decided to design myself a pedal case that would be way easier to carry throughout my journey. The one I had was actually a box made of fabric, and it really wasn’t creating any nice memories carrying while walking on the streets.

First of all, I tried to deal with the balancing problems while carrying it. I made each pedal their own case so that I can hold them easily one in each hand. I also made the handle thin enough so that when I need a spare hand I could grip both cases easily in one single palm.

Wood is a substance that is rich in colors and textures, I decided to make a case that has the same elements of the pedal but differ in the details. I transformed the parts of my pedals and recreated a set of structures that were organic, like the outer bones of the pedals, holding it, gripping it tight. A box buckle was used to create the “lock on” mode to hold the whole set in place. An industrialized, precision mechanical artwork surrounded by the detailed, crafted, and organic article. that’s what I wanted.
