Shoes are something I would like to take with me if setting off a trip, and to make my case having both displaying and conserving uses is the main idea of my design. After observing people walking around with their shoes, I realize the tempo of steps are regular and rhythmful. Plus, the whole motion from one step to another makes an approximately upside-down arc in the space, which inspires me to imitate the moving trace of shoes. As a result, when designing my suitcase, mechanisms constructed by various type of metal hardware are installed in each piece of wood chip, so that a series of motion would be triggered when opened. Also, the wood chips are design to form an arc when expanded, so, slightly angle change should be performed by these arranged mechanism. Eventually, a suitcase made by piled wood chips is completed.
