Tamkang Architecture 60th Anniversary Celebration: Convergence and Flow
For sixty years, Tamkang Architecture has advanced with perseverance, courageously climbing each step. Our approach is solid yet flexible, unique, and continuously evolving from within outward because we have always held a deep aspiration for the future.
The celebration is a time to cherish shared memories and serve as a bridge to the future. We invite distinguished alumni to return to campus and kick off the event with a lecture series titled "Moral Boundaries: The Responsibility and Social Impact of Architects," where they will share exemplary stories from their lives. These discussions will address professional ethics in tackling real-world challenges and embody the ultimate values of architectural education. Following this, current students will present "Tamkang Dispatch: Architecture in Local Action," sharing their journey of fulfilling social responsibilities and exploring the role and obligations of architects in modern society.
On November 30th, the "Alumni Homecoming" event will feature a tour led by a former department head, showcasing the newly transformed Architecture Department building, allowing everyone to witness the evolution of their alma mater. As alumni and faculty reconnect and reminisce, the pioneering spirit of Tamkang Architecture will be rekindled, laying a stronger foundation for the department.
The final stage of the celebration focuses on academic innovation. The "AI-Driven Design Symposium" on December 7th will explore how AI technology is poised to impact future design thinking and processes, opening new perspectives in the field of architecture. On December 8th, the "Constructive Education Seminar" will delve into "Interconstruction: From the Building of Local Knowledge to Strategies for Mobile Guerrilla Tactics," led by participating scholars who will guide students in exploring how to materialize local knowledge and cultural expression, creating symbiotic spaces.
This sixty-year celebration is both an invitation and a new beginning. We hope that in the coming decades, and even sixty years from now, we will continue to converge at the core of architectural education and practice, collectively drawing a beautiful blueprint to change the world through architecture.
