The 2024 Tainan Architectural Corner Creative Construction Project invited over 50 university students from Tamkang University, Ming Chuan University, Nanhua University, Chinese Culture University, Chung Yuan Christian University, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, and National University of Kaohsiung. They collaborated with nine local communities, including Zuozhen's Gongguan and Zuozhong communities, Xinying's Guye and Xindong communities, Houbi's Jingfeng and Jiada communities, Yanshui's Houzhai community, Yujing's Zhuwei community, and the Taiwan Original Heart Local Life Association in Xiaying District, to compete for this year's top Architectural Corner award. The competition's final evaluation took place from August 31 to September 1, and the award-winning projects have now been unveiled.

During the evaluation on August 31 and September 1, the Urban Development Bureau of Tainan City selected the winning projects. The Gold Award went to the "蔪埕" Corner Center, a collaboration between Xinying's Guye community and Chinese Culture University. The project transformed a previously closed-off and cluttered space into a new gathering spot for residents. The Silver Award was given to "Zuo Hui Lai Xie Jiao Ting," a cozy waiting space created in Zuozhen's Gongguan community, while the Bronze Award was awarded to "Lin Ju Li," featuring a distinctive wooden canopy entrance in Yujing's Zhuwei community. Both the Silver and Bronze award projects were accomplished in partnership with two teams from Tamkang University.

Mayor Huang Wei-che praised the enthusiastic involvement of the students and community members, whose collaborative efforts over the past two months resulted in impressive outcomes across all nine project sites. Urban Development Bureau Director Xu Zhong-qiang expressed gratitude to all the participating community leaders, partners, and university faculty for their recognition and support, which has helped continue the spirit of environmental improvement embodied by the Architectural Corner Project.

The Urban Development Bureau further explained that each student team and community worked tirelessly on their projects, presenting local cultural characteristics through their designs and revitalizing the community landscape. The Architectural Corner Project breaks away from traditional construction approaches, offering a platform for young people to unleash their creativity and gain practical experience. By engaging with the community, the teams were able to listen to local perspectives and transform those ideas into reality, creating inclusive centers that resonate with residents.
